Quetta Gladiators Wins the First PSL Battle
DUBAI: Pakistan Super League (#PSL) was inaugurated with imposing ceremony in Dubai on 4rth February, 2016. The First battle between Quetta and Islamabad, Gladiators won the first battle of PSL vs Islamabad United by 8 wickets with 4 overs to spare.
Sarfraz Ahmed (The Gladiators’ captain) won the toss and elected to bowl first. Fast bowler Anwar Ali started the innings with a maiden over. Australian allrounder, Shane Watson was not allowed to open the runs in the first over.
Sharjeel Khan was the first OUT, to Gladiators at the hand of Zulfiqar Babar.
Skipper (Islamabad United) Misbah hit 41 runs off 28 balls with 1 Big Six and four 4s. Andre Russel added 35 runs off 20 balls to the total.
In reply, Quetta Gladiators scored 132 runs at the loss of two wickets with opener Luke Wright scoring 86 runs off 53 balls with the help of four 6’s and 11 4s.
21-year old left-arm spinning all-rounder Mohammad Nawaz was star of the tournament opener with figures, 4 wicket in bowling scored 22 and guided the Gladiators to surmount the target with 4 overs to go.
