Islamabad United beat Lahore Qalandars by 5 Wickets Which book Karachi Kings playoff Round

Islamabad United beat Lahore Qalandars by 5 wickets, with 7 balls remaining, put Lahore out of  the first Pakistan Super League’s (PSL) next play-off round.

Sohaib Maqsood (59) and Umar Akmal (72*) lived up to the expectations of fans and took the score to 15o/5 in 20 overs for Qalandars in the First Innings. In Response IU started losing quick wickets but, Brad Haddin and Khalid Lateef provided and then Misbah, Brad Haddin in later part of the innings took the  game away from Lahore Qalandars.

Haddin was top scorer with 54 while Misbah scored 38 runs in Islamabad’s victory.

With this defeat, Lahore Qalandars have been put out of the tournament which makes way for Karachi Kings to qualify for play-off round.

The final match of the league stage in PSL between Lahore Qalandars and Islamabad United will be played today at Dubai International Cricket Stadium. The weather is not too good, with prediction of showers expected.

Islamabad is in third place in the table with 6 points, which look like that they had qualified for the play-off stage. However, if they lose to Lahore and Karachi Kings win against Peshawar Zalmi, things may be changed for them.

ISB United Skipper, Misbah-ul-Haq would want to avoid such a scenario depending on Andre Russell, Brad Haddin and S Badree to fire to ensure that his team beat Lahore Qalandars on Wednesday, but hewill miss Shane Watson who flewed home due to injury in the PSL.
